The first version I tried was a hooded version, with a cross over hood, it came together really nicely, the hood looks great and is really cosy.
It's nice to have a hood with something a little bit different about it, but it's still so functional. The way it sits up round my neck keeps me really warm!
I made this version out of Ponte Roma, I went with a slightly longer length (but not the full tunic length), a banded hem and regular cuffs for this version.
Next I made the button-up funnel neck version with poppers instead of buttons. This one looks great with the poppers open or closed, and is great for the ever changeable British weather!
I used scuba knit for this version - I'd never sewn with it before, and in hindsight, it probably wasn't a flexible enough fabric for this style of neckline! Since testing, this neckline has been adjusted to take a bit of the height out, so you could get away with a fairly drapey jersey.
This one also has the optional thumb holes in the cuffs, which I LOVE - they keep my hands really warm!!
